NEP-2020 | The Minus

One of the biggest hitbacks of the NEP-2020 is 'Class difference would exist after implementation of this policy also'.Assuming how? We will let you know that in this blog.

Welcome back to Kitaabi-Fi!

In the last blog, we witnessed the positives of NEP-2020. Let's now discuss about what's wrong with the new policy. Three most important aspects that have been ignored in this policy are outdated syllabus, Poor infrastructure and poorly trained teachers.

One of the important aspect of this policy lies with using mother tongue as communication medium. But this is not mandatory. As a result, private schools would not follow this and class difference between private and government school students will still exist. Students of private school will have an undue advantage in competition, and jobs as well.

CEE-Common Entrance Examination is suggested after 12th standard rather than different entrance exams. This step is also appreciated but again it's a suggestion. Private Universities don't have enough reasons to follow this system as well.

It's proposed that 6% of GDP would be used on education infrastructure now. FYI, after Independence India has not used this much percentage of GDP on its education till now. Further to this, India ranks 143 among 197 countries on the basis of percentage of GDP used on education infrastructure! In last 5 years, only 3-3.5% of the GDP has been used.

Very first change required is teachers should be not involved in any sort of election duty, surveys, Polio or family planning campaigns etc. Also, if possible bachelor degree should be made mandatory for education ministers of state and at centre also.

Do let us know what reforms do you want in our education system to make it way better. Also comment down your views and experiences!

  1. I totally agree that the teachers should not be involved in election duties, surveys etc, but you mentioned that the teachers don't have proper knowledge.
I don't think that's true, the government teacher is exam is one of the hardest exams in our country.
    It's still my personal opinion.

  2. This is true from the teachers view of point that teachers teach many students and also many works to do for his life also then why teacher follow government order to involve election duties and campaign. But that is the way you write that teachers have not knowing every thing.I thing so government exam and government teacher is hard job for people this is not possible for every one to make teachers specially for government employees also.
