Today we will be discussing over the National Education Policy-2020.   BJP declared about this policy in its manifesto back in 2014. In 2015, a committee led by  TSR Subramanian was formed, Smriti Irani was the then HRD minister. Government didn't approve the draft of this committee. Again in 2016, another committee was formed which was led by K Kasturirangan-Former ISRO chief. This committee made its final draft on 31st May, 2019. According to HRD Ministry, this draft has been approved after almost 1.5 Lac suggestions. 1. 5+3+3+4 Model As of now, our school education is based mostly on 10+2 model where for 10 years, students read common subjects and then for next 2 years, they study subjects of their choice.
